H.I.G. Capital Strengthens Market Position with Strategic Acquisitions

H.I.G. Capital, a prominent global investment firm based in Miami, has recently announced several strategic acquisitions aimed at expanding its influence across key market sectors. These moves highlight the firm’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio and enhancing its operational capabilities.

On August 27, 2024, H.I.G. Capital revealed that its portfolio company, Hibu Inc., had successfully acquired RevLocal, LLC. This acquisition combines two major players in the digital marketing space, creating a robust platform to serve small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) across the United States. Kevin Jasper, CEO of Hibu, expressed enthusiasm for the deal, emphasizing that it would enable them to offer comprehensive digital marketing solutions from a single, integrated platform.

In another notable transaction, on August 13, 2024, H.I.G. Capital acquired Axis Europe Limited, a leading provider of property maintenance services in the UK. This acquisition will be merged with H.I.G.’s existing portfolio company, CLC Group, to establish a national property maintenance specialist. John Hayes, Founder and CEO of Axis, will join the board as a non-executive director and reinvest alongside H.I.G. Capital, marking a significant step in the firm’s expansion into the UK property services market.

These acquisitions follow H.I.G. Capital’s earlier investment in Ascension Property Services (APS), announced on July 25, 2024. APS, based in Tennessee, offers mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other essential services to the commercial and industrial property sectors. Jon Contos, Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital, sees this as a strategic move to broaden their service offerings and enter new geographical markets.

H.I.G. Capital manages an impressive $65 billion in capital and has invested in over 400 companies globally since its inception in 1993. These latest acquisitions underscore the firm’s strategic growth approach, aiming to empower businesses with best-in-class solutions across various sectors. Matt Gullen, another Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital, noted that these deals are transformative steps in their growth strategy, reinforcing the firm’s market position and capability to deliver comprehensive solutions to diverse industries.

H.I.G. Capital’s recent activities signal a robust phase of growth, with industry observers closely watching how these additions will impact their overall portfolio and market presence.
