Immensa Labs is a startup that creates a platform to accelerate additive manufacturing adoption. It helps businesses identify the right processes and strategies to implement 3D printing, redesign products, and processes, and train leaders to empower their employees. Immensa Labs is also working with the Saudi government to ensure its policies are additive manufacturing ready and enable citizens to take advantage of this technology.
Immensa Labs arose from the need to ensure the Middle East is prepared for the imminent transformation that additive manufacturing will bring to business and manufacturing. The company believes in a future where it doesn’t matter where you are in the world; if you need a product, you can pull it off a shelf or download it with a click of a button.
It believes this future can only be realized with local talent being aware of and leveraging additive manufacturing. It sees itself as part of the ecosystem that should be created to accelerate additive manufacturing adoption through training and software solutions and provide consulting services to help clients implement this new way of making products.
It was started by a small group of individuals who met at a 2013 World Government Summit in Dubai. They came together to focus on additive manufacturing throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Still, they soon decided it was time that they did something more than just talk about the potential of additive manufacturing.
After three years of working out of their homes and cafés, the company founders realized they needed to be ready to enter serious business. Immensa Labs found its initial funding in April 2015 when Stipla, a venture capital firm based in Tel Aviv, backed it.
The company was partly self-funded through the founders’ savings. The founders have also created a network of investors to provide funding as needed to expand operations and market reach.
