Launched in 2010, Gavrieli used his successful brand to create the Gavrieli Foundation. A charitable institution with a goal to give back and help communities. The Gavrieli Foundation partnered with the microloan organization KIVA and has given out approximately $10,000,000 in microloans to entrepreneurs around the world.
A graduate of Stanford University, Kfir Gavrieli had worked in real estate, venture capital, hedge funds, and the technology industry before he decided to establish a web-only retail store for ballet flats. Tieks has been featured on Additionally, Inc. and Forbes Magazine and had the honor of being placed on the Oprah Winfrey O list.
The son of immigrants who moved to Los Angeles when Gavrieli was a small child. Gavrieli, along with his siblings, had a strong work ethic as an example from his parents as they established their own business.
Along with the Gavrieli Foundation’s partnership with KIVA, Kfir Gavrieli also helped the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. When masks were scarce, health professionals and the public had no way to protect themselves. Gavrieli decided to give $25 gift cards to fans and customers who sewed masks and donated them to health professionals.
Kfir believes that heroes are everywhere and that everyone has the capacity to be a hero during everyday life by helping others and giving back. Gavrieli saw heroes in the doctors, nurses, janitors, and receptionists who worked in hospitals and clinics during the COVID-19 pandemic.
