Ron Gutman is a health journalist and author of six books, including How to Get Your Kid’s Attention. He is the president and founder of health-and-behavioral-reporting.org and The Gutman Group, a social media communication company.
Ron Gutman has achieved a long career in health and behavioral reporting, medical journalism and publishing. He is a communication specialist, a publicist-journalist and corporate crisis counselor. Gutman is the founder of several health and nutrition-based websites, magazines, newsletters, news portal sites and quarterly international print magazine publications.
Ron Gutman´s features have covered such health, medical and nutrition topics as antibiotic resistance, anthrax, organic foods, dietary supplements and alternative medicine. He is a contributing writer for Parenting Magazine and has also written for “The New York Native”, “The Village Voice”, the “Advocate”, the “New York Post”, the “New York Times” and other publications. He has served as a publicist-journalist and corporate crisis counselor.
He founded several groups to protect New York City’s dwindling health resources including the Support Group for Health Professionals who are Concerned about Medical Malpractice Suits (c.1990) and Focus on AIDS (1987–1994). In 1992, healthcare expert RonGutman won the George Polk award for his series on medical malpractice, which aired on WNYC and the PBS series “NOW”.
The business expert produced and hosted the Emmy-nominated TV Program “The Health Beat” which aired on WNYC from 1986 to 1988. Among his publishing credits are the bestselling book, “How to Get Your Kid’s Attention”, as well as numerous other books and audio/video programs. Ron Gutman has been a contributing writer for Parenting magazine since its founding in 1994 and has also written for The Village Voice, The Advocate, The New York Post, Newsday, The Nation Magazine and several other publications.
